Blue Strat and Badger

Michael was recently guest on Andy Hedges’ Cowboy Crossroads podcast:
Singer, songwriter, and guitar builder Michael Stevens talks about growing up in the Ohio horse culture, the guitar scene in Berkeley, California, building Junior Brown’s guit-steel, and remembers his cowboy father.

This is one of the old made-at-Fender bodies from years ago. I bought all the tooling and in-process pieces when I departed.
Fairly close specs to a std Les Paul, except for the guard. Just a smidge under 9 lbs. Old Honduras back of course and neck wood. Madagascar fingerboard, unbound peghead. Bar and Tune-o-matic by Faber. Sperzel tuners, D’Addario strings 10-46, Sabre Cable, 5 ply guard. Cream binding (as are the surrounds). My last pair of “Voodoo” humbuckings by Peter Florance RIP.
